1. Who we are
Glowbox Games is a business name of Luminary Group Aus Pty Ltd (ABN 65 668 790 814), based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia ("Glowbox Games", "we", "us"). This policy covers all games we publish (including Rolling Siege), and glowboxgames.com. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, where they apply to you, other privacy laws such as the EU and UK GDPR and Californian privacy law.
2. What we collect
Stored on your device (we don't receive it)
Your game progress, settings and a record of what you have unlocked are saved on your device. Save codes you create to back up progress are generated on your device. We only see a save code if you choose to email it to us.
Collected automatically by our service providers
- Device and app information: device model, operating system, language, app version, and general region (worked out from your IP address).
- Identifiers: your device's advertising ID (IDFA on iOS, only if you allow tracking; Advertising ID on Android, unless you've deleted it) and an app instance ID used for analytics.
- Gameplay and usage events: for example, stages reached, features used, ads watched and session length. These help us balance and improve our games.
- Crash and performance data: what went wrong when the app crashes or runs slowly.
- Purchase records: which product was bought, when, its price and a transaction ID. Payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google, so we never see your card or bank details.
When you contact us
Your email address, your message and anything you attach, such as screenshots or receipts.
We don't collect your name (unless you include it in an email), contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, or precise location.
3. How we use it
- To run our games, deliver and restore purchases, and keep things working.
- To show rewarded ads when you choose to watch them, and to measure and limit how often ads are shown.
- To understand how players use our games so we can fix problems, balance difficulty and plan improvements.
- To answer your emails and support requests.
- To prevent fraud and cheating, and to meet our legal and tax obligations.
If you're in the EU, UK or Switzerland, our legal bases are: your consent for personalised ads and any optional tracking; our legitimate interests for analytics, crash reporting, security and support; and performance of a contract for delivering purchases.
4. Advertising and your choices
Our games are free and supported by optional rewarded ads served by Google AdMob. Ads only play when you tap to watch one. AdMob may use your advertising ID and device information to show and measure ads, and to personalise them if you've allowed it.
- iPhone and iPad: we ask before any tracking under Apple's App Tracking Transparency. You can change this any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Android: go to Settings › Google › Ads (or Settings › Privacy › Ads) to delete or reset your advertising ID.
- EU, UK and Switzerland: we show Google's consent message the first time you play. You can change your choice from the game's Settings.
- Remove ads: buying Remove ads (or the Supporter Pack) stops ads from loading in that game.
If you choose not to allow personalisation, you'll still see ads when you choose to watch them, but they'll be less tailored to you.
5. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run our games, and only for the purposes above:
| Provider | What for | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Rewarded ads, consent message | Google Privacy Policy |
| Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics) | Usage analytics, crash reports | Firebase privacy |
| RevenueCat | Checking and restoring purchases | RevenueCat Privacy Policy |
| Apple and Google | App distribution and payments | Apple · Google |
| Zoho | Our support email | Zoho Privacy Policy |
| Cloudflare | Hosting this website | Cloudflare Privacy Policy |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety, or as part of a sale or restructure of our business (in which case this policy would continue to apply).
We don't sell your personal information. Under some laws, such as California's, letting an ad partner use your advertising ID for personalised ads can count as "sharing". You can opt out at any time using the device settings above, or by emailing us.
6. Overseas storage
Our service providers may store and process information outside Australia, including in the United States, the European Union and other countries where they operate. We choose providers with strong privacy and security commitments and take reasonable steps to make sure they handle information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
7. Children
Our games are made for a general audience and aren't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you're a parent or guardian and think your child has sent us personal information, email support@glowboxgames.com and we'll delete it.
8. How long we keep it
- Analytics data: up to 14 months, then deleted automatically.
- Crash reports: about 90 days.
- Support emails: up to 2 years after your last message, so we can help if the problem comes back.
- Purchase records: as long as Australian tax law requires, usually 5 years.
9. Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections and two-step sign-in on our accounts, and we limit access to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will act quickly if something goes wrong, including notifying you where the law requires.
10. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct anything that's wrong;
- delete your information, including data linked to your device in our analytics;
- stop using it for personalised ads, or withdraw consent you've given.
Email support@glowboxgames.com with the subject "Privacy request". We'll reply within 30 days. We may ask for details, such as your device type and when you played, so we can find the right data and confirm the request is yours. Depending on where you live, you may have extra rights, such as data portability or the right to object. We'll honour them as the law requires, and we won't treat you differently for using them.
Because our games don't use accounts, deleting the app removes your game progress from your device.
11. Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please email us first so we can try to fix it. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also contact your local data protection authority.
12. Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when our games or the law change. We'll change the "last updated" date above, and for important changes we'll also let you know in the game.
